DIGITAL AEROSPACE FACTORY
EFFICIENCY IN DIGITALLY CONNECTED PROCESSES

The “Digital Aerospace Factory” project focuses on increasing efficiency across the entire value chain in medium-sized aerospace supplier companies. The goal is to develop solutions based on a digitized and networked process chain that can reduce energy and material consumption as well as process times in defined manufacturing sequences. The expected effects are first simulated digitally and then verified and quantified using specific manufacturing processes in an industrial setting. In particular, the project examines development and manufacturing processes for metallic structures in the aerospace industry. Statements regarding the savings achieved will be made only on the basis of the results of this validation.
